SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE
A Leica TCP SP5 laser confocal microscope with full spectral analytical capability, high-resolution high-speed scanning is available. The instrument will has 5 channels, four with spectral analysis. These channels do not use filters and are capable of distinguishing fluorochromes with nearly overlapping spectra. The instrument is mounted on interchangeable upright and inverted platforms equipped with a complete array of dry and immersion objectives. A chambers for live cell microscopy and long-term image acquisition is mounted on the inverted platform. The instrument can perform serial (line by line or frame by frame) acquisition of up to 4 different fluorochormoes at high speed.
Advanced functions include FRET, FRAP, image analysis, and deconvolution.
Image analysis software and a secondary workstation are available as well.
Location: McKnight building, room 704.
USERS
Primary users will be the applicants in the NIH grant that funded the equipment. Unused time will be available to the rest of the Miller School of Medicine community on a fee basis. All users will be required to receive training by the facility administrator before using the instrument. Training must be arranged with Mr. Gaidosh at the above e-mail address. Users will not be allowed to use the instrument by themselves until fully certified by Mr. Gaidosh.
