The Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy participates in a variety of teaching activities for medical and graduate students. Leading the department's medical education initiative are two full-time teaching faculty who are part of a broader group of lecturers and lab instructors that includes faculty from other departments at UM, from our medical school on the Florida Atlantic University campus, senior medical students, sophomore medical students and physical therapists from the local community. Although the content and organization of the courses are continually being reviewed and updated to reflect new information from research and clinical experience, the Cell Biology and Anatomy teaching faculty consistently provides expertise in cell biology, neuroanatomy, histology, embryology, and gross anatomy. Also worthy of mention are the teaching faculty's innovative methods, which have garnered numerous teaching awards for the department and individual faculty members. Some of these awards include:
Best
Basic Science Department Teaching Award
Teacher of the Year
George Paff Awards
Annual Teaching Award
Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society Award
University of Miami Medical Women Award
