Grants awarded were primarily for increasing access to primary care and reducing health disparities

Achieved, over a 6-year period, increased operating revenue from $119M to $262M, increased staff from 2,500 to 5,000 and tripled services to Alabama citizens. Increased third-party reimbursements and aggressively pursued grants and contracts. Secured passage of a $45M bond issue from the Alabama Legislature to restore aging county health department facilities.
