The mission of the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health is to promote and conduct high quality research, teaching and service for the prevention of disease and maintenance of health. Efforts of the faculty and research staff address a variety of biological factors that hinder the maintenance of good health. Our research and teaching is integrated with multicultural, community-based interventions and observational research in South Florida and throughout the world.
