Joint/Affiliated Programs
J.D./M.P.H.
The Juris Doctorate/Master of Public Health (JD/M.P.H.) degree
is offered jointly by the University of Miami School of Law
and School of Medicine. This program is geared towards students
with a strong interest in pursuing a legal career in the health
field. The expected length of time for completion is 4 years.
M.D./M.P.H.
The Medicus Doctorate/Master of Public Health (M.D./M.P.H.)
degree is available to those students already admitted to
the School of Medicine at the University of Miami. This integrated
program allows students to complete both degrees within five
years. Students interested in specializing in Preventive Medicine
must have an M.P.H. for residency and board certification.
M.P.A./M.P.H.
The Master of Public Administration/Master of Public Health
(MPA/M.P.H.) program is a collaboration between the University
of Miami School of Business and School of Medicine. The M.P.H.
degree with a second master's degree in pubic administration
is designed for students who seek an in-depth knowledge of
public health with training in management and public policy
administration. Students enrolled in this joint program for
both degrees can expect to complete the requirements within
2 ½ years.
UM/FIU Affiliated M.P.H.
The University of Miami offers an affiliated M.P.H. program
with Florida International University (FIU). Students may
take a maximum of 15 credits through FIU's M.P.H. program
and apply those credits towards their M.P.H. degree at the
University of Miami.
M.D./Ph.D. in Epidemiology
The M.D./Ph.D. Program at the University of Miami School of
Medicine provides a unique training environment for exceptionally
qualified individuals who want to pursue careers in academic
medicine and research. The curriculum is comprised of the
school's outstanding clinical training, the rigorous epidemiology
graduate program, and M.D./Ph.D. Program activities and informal
seminars. The program is designed to be completed in seven
years, but additional time may be required because the progress
of dissertation research cannot be predicted. For additional

M.A.I.A./M.P.H
The Master of Arts in International Administration/Master
of Public Health (M.A.I.A./M.P.H.) degree is offered jointly
by the University of Miami Division of Continuing Studies
and the School of Medicine. The M.P.H. degree with a second
master's degree in international administration is designed
for students who seek an in-depth knowledge of public health
with a broader emphasis in globalization and health, international
health policy and international development. Students enrolled
in this joint program can expect to complete both degree requirements
within 3 years.
