It is an exciting time to be involved in biomedical research. The recent mapping of the human genome and advances in stem cell research have created unprecedented opportunities for discovery. At the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine we have created two new centers of excellence in each of these areas, in addition to our already renowned centers devoted to curing cancer, paralysis, diabetes, and eye disease, some of the world's most prominent health challenges.
