HOW TO APPLY

The first step in the application process is to indicate to the American Medical College Admissions Services (AMCAS) that you want your medical school application sent to the University of Miami. On that application, be sure to indicate that you want to be considered for the MD/PhD Program. Remember, the MD/PhD Program is only offered on the Miami campus.

Upon receipt at our school, your AMCAS file will be reviewed. If you meet the qualifications for consideration, you will be sent instructions on how to access the MD/PhD Program application and the Medical School's supplemental application on-line. The MD/PhD application and the supplemental application must be submitted through the on-line mechanism. Supporting documents, such as scientific publications, can be mailed to the MD/PhD Program Office. Your letters of recommendation should be sent to Medical Admissions, but to expedite review by the MD/PhD program it is recommended that duplicate letters be sent to the MD/PhD office. Even if you expect to qualify for the program with your scores from a future MCAT exam, you should submit the MD/PhD application and the supplemental application as soon as possible.

Applications will be reviewed, and selected applicants will be invited to campus for interviews during an MD/PhD Interview Day. You will have a chance to meet with members of the MD/PhD Program Admissions Committee, selected faculty, the MD/PhD Program Directors and MD/PhD students. Primary scheduled interview days for applicants seeking admission for Fall 2008 are listed below.

  • Friday November 30, 2007
  • Friday January 11, 2008
  • Friday February 8, 2008
