HEALTH AND DENTAL INSURANCE
Health insurance is required for all degree and non-degree seeking
students carrying seven or more credits at the University. Both
health and dental insurance are available at the time of registration.
The annual cost of the insurance premium varies from year to year.
However, if you choose the University of Miami graduate student health insurance program, we will pay 80% of the individual student premium cost. During the 2006-2007
academic year the University has selected the following health
insurance: United Healthcare. The Student Health Center does not endorse or sponsor any dental plan. A plan available to you is provided by DP. Brokers, please direct all inquiries to 877-926-1797 or visit www.compbenefits.com.
Students who obtain their own insurance or are covered by their
parents or spouse may fill out the appropriate waiver form.
This waiver form must be forwarded to the insurance company
for verification of coverage. The insurance company must provide
proof that this policy provides benefits at least equal to those
required by the University of Miami.
