Laura Aladro promoted to Senior Program Coordinator, PIBS
Laura Aladro was recently promoted to Senior Program Coordinator. In collaboration with Drs. Pedro Salas and Arun Malhotra, she will now provide support to the first year program in biomedical sciences. She will also continue to manage graduate admissions.
Laura has worked in OGPS for the past two years, first as a Senior Administrative Assistant, and for the past seven months as Interim Graduate Program Coordinator for the MD / PhD Program due to a staff vacancy. Laura brings over five years of professional experience in student services and enrollment management to this role. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Florida International University.
She previously worked at Barry University School of Social Work. She managed the Office of Student Services and while her primary duty was student-focused service, she assisted the Director of Admissions, Enrollment, and Student Services with admissions and recruitment for all social work programs (BSW, MSW, PhD).
She has recently been accepted into the Master of Education in Higher Education Administration program at Northeastern University; which is a fully online program. She feels pursuing this specific master will not only expand her knowledge base of higher education administration, but also allow her to pursue her interest of policy, societal influence, and student-focused service as it applies to the current state and future of academia. Northeastern’s curriculum reflects Ms. Aladro’s interests and the ability to pursue her degree online is ideal with her current work schedule. In her personal life, she enjoys traveling, reading, cultural events, concerts, nature, spending time with friends and family, and taking care of her two beautiful pitbull pups.
