- Official transcripts and/or a copy of a valid unrestricted Florida Medical License (if applicable).

The Human Resources has an employee handbook for faculty and staff. Please visit the Human Resources website for all personnel policies and procedures, computer/network/internet policies and procedures, finance and treasury policies and procedures, and the business conduct and ethical standards handbook. Policies included in these handbooks also apply to postdocs.
Student Rights and Responsibilities
The Handbook on Student Rights and Responsibilities, which also applies to all postdocs at the University of Miami, includes information on student rights, standards of conduct, and university regulations and disciplinary procedures.

New postdocs at UMMSOM must attend the mandatory UM New Employee Orientation (NEO). In addition, the Postdoctoral Programs Office offers orientation sessions to familiarize postdocs with policies in this handbook and training opportunities. Details will be available in your new postdoc packet.
National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week
The National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) sponsors events across the country to create awareness of and recognize the contributions that postdocs make to the U.S. scientific research enterprise. Each year, UM holds a Postdoctoral Research Day during National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week. During the National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week, universities hold workshops, seminars, luncheons, and social events to highlight the contributions of postdocs.
Certificate of Completion
The University of Miami issues certificates of completion for Postdoctoral Scholars and Associates at the end of their annual appointment. Certificates may be printed on a quarterly basis and may be picked up from the Postdoctoral Programs Office upon completion of the exit questionnaire.
